Nivlo updates · 23 October 2026
This update simplifies bringing assets in from other services, introduces large transfers without a Nivlo account, and provides clearer tools for organising extensive file libraries.
Import files directly from a link
Inside a Nivlo folder, open the More menu, select Ingest external link, paste the link and start copying the files.
Supported sources include:
- Nivlo share links;
- WeTransfer;
- SwissTransfer;
- Digi Storage;
- public Dropbox folders;
- public Google Drive folders.
The import continues in the background. A compact panel displays progress, including downloaded bytes, remains available after the page is reloaded and lets you retry a failed import. Subfolders appear as they are created.
Dropbox and Google Drive imports require public folders. A protected Nivlo link may ask for its password. Import duration depends on the volume of assets and the availability of the source service.
Impact: you can bring a delivery into your Nivlo workspace without first downloading every file to your computer and uploading it again.
Nivlo Send: large transfers without an account
Nivlo Send lets you transfer large files without creating a Nivlo account.
Add the files, create the transfer and share the resulting link. Recipients can download files individually or together.
Under the currently published limits:
- email addresses on public domains can transfer up to 3 GB, retained for 7 days;
- addresses associated with a company’s own domain can transfer up to 7 GB, retained for 30 days.
The service displays the applicable limit. Files are removed after the retention period and cannot be recovered once they expire.
Impact: you can quickly deliver large assets to a client, agency or supplier without first creating accounts for every recipient.
AI agents in Nivlo — beta and gradual access
The Agent Access area provides guides for connecting compatible assistants such as Codex, Claude or Ovo to a Nivlo workspace.
For each connection, you can choose the relevant work areas and limits for the available operations. Activity can be reviewed in the same panel, and actions requiring confirmation are presented before they run.
Depending on the connection, an agent can search for assets, review file information and help organise folders, tags and comments.
The feature is in beta/early access, is rolling out gradually and availability may vary by account, connection and operation. Connecting an external agent may require technical configuration. Uploads and transfers of original or HD files through an agent are not available at this stage.
Impact: repetitive search and organisation tasks can begin directly from a conversation with the assistant, while the result remains visible in Nivlo.
Select every result, not only the items already loaded
Inside a folder and in Search results, the Select all menu can select every file or folder matching the current context and active filters, including items that have not yet been loaded by scrolling.
When a folder contains files and subfolders, you choose which type to select. In Search, the selection applies to the current tab — Files or Folders — and preserves the displayed filters and sort order.
You can individually deselect items that you do not want to include. Available actions depend on the selected type and include download, move and delete; file selections can also be tagged or used with Add to folder.
The feature is available inside folders and in global Search. Items on standalone lists continue to be selected manually.
Limits for very large selections
Inside a folder, Select all can cover up to 5,000 direct files or 500 direct subfolders.
In Search, it covers the first 5,000 file results or the first 500 folder results under the active filters and sort order. Refine the search or add a filter to work with the remaining results.
Copy to folder, Share and Favorite are unavailable while a complete selection is active. Clear the selection and choose the required items manually for those actions. The existing Last upload workflow remains unchanged.
Impact: you can organise or download a large set without first scrolling through every page, and you know from the start what the selection includes.
Follow a folder together with its subfolders
When you select Follow for a folder, following extends to its visible subfolders, including subfolders created or duplicated later within that tree.
Notifications now cover more relevant changes: renaming the folder, updating its description, adding, moving, copying or duplicating files into it, and uploading a new file version.
New files and new versions are collected into notifications associated with the folder you follow. When every asset was uploaded to the same subfolder, the notification identifies that subfolder and opens the correct destination.
Selecting Unfollow for the parent folder stops following the entire tree. Content unavailable to you is not included. Moving an existing folder under a followed folder does not automatically add it to the follow.
Impact: you can follow a project with several levels without enabling notifications separately for every subfolder, and you get a clearer view of changes to its structure and assets.
A primary tag and clearer tag ordering
When a file has several tags, open its preview and select the tag that should represent it. The primary tag is listed first and highlighted in the editor, on the file card and in list view.
The remaining tags keep the order in which they were added instead of being rearranged alphabetically. If the primary tag is removed from the file, Nivlo automatically selects the next available tag.
Tags inside a folder show the number of associated files and are ordered with the tags covering the most assets first. Ties are sorted alphabetically with case- and diacritic-aware ordering.
The first 15 tags are displayed directly. +N expands the list and Show less collapses it. A tag currently used as a filter remains visible even when it falls outside the first 15 results.
Impact: the team can identify an asset’s main subject more quickly and understand how a folder is organised without losing the active filter.
Clearer control over notifications and activity
Unread notifications can be marked individually as read from both the notification menu and the dedicated page.
Simply opening the Notifications page no longer marks every item as read. The unread indicator therefore reflects more accurately what you have reviewed.
File and folder download notifications are off by default to reduce repetitive messages. If you want to receive them, you can turn them back on under Notification Settings.
Activity history also records Folder Follow and Folder Unfollow, which can be identified separately with the activity filter.
Impact: you can keep important notifications for later, reduce messages that are not useful to you and see more easily when following was enabled or disabled for a folder.
More predictable folder actions
- Follow and Edit are grouped under a More menu, creating a less crowded action bar.
- Duplicate asks for confirmation before copying.
- The duplicated folder appears once, next to its source, and is highlighted temporarily.
- In manually ordered folders, the copy keeps its position after the page is reloaded.
- Deleting a folder does not delete its files. Files linked elsewhere remain there, while files without another folder remain available under All files.
- Restoring a folder also restores the subfolders deleted with it.
Impact: reorganising the folder structure is more predictable and does not accidentally remove stored assets.
Improved previews, search and navigation
For images uploaded from now on, optimised versions make better use of the frame’s longest side. Portrait and landscape images retain more detail without being enlarged beyond their original dimensions.
The change applies to new uploads. Existing images keep their current versions until they are reprocessed.
In Search results, folders display their name and description before the preview, using a structure consistent with the main folder grid.
In addition:
- long section menus can be scrolled without running beyond the screen;
- sections whose names use different capitalisation are ordered more consistently;
- section colours are visible in Timeline and in the side panel;
- Timeline pages containing many folders load more efficiently;
- tagging or deleting large numbers of files requires less processing time.
Impact: new assets are clearer in preview, results are easier to scan and large workspaces respond more quickly.
Visible fixes

- When a selection cannot be activated, Nivlo displays the reason and the applicable limit.
- If the underlying content changes, the selection is cleared so you can select the current set again.
- Menus opened on hover can be pinned with a click without closing accidentally.
- Changing folders while a selection is being activated no longer leaves the interface stuck in a pending state.
- Selection checkmarks remain associated with the correct item type.
- The Favorites page can be opened and loaded normally.
- Opening the Notifications page no longer marks every notification as read.

- A file’s tags preserve the order in which they were added.
- Folder tags with the same file count are sorted alphabetically, including diacritics.
- Selections opened from agent results explain when files may be hidden by the active filters.
- Permanently deleting a mixed Trash selection consistently processes both the selected files and folders.
- Nivlo Send correctly downloads files whose names contain diacritics or other special characters.
- The People filters in All files and Activity logs include every company user, not only the first group of results.

- Long-running downloads, large archives and Nivlo Send transfers are more stable.
- Notification Settings correctly displays notification choices that have been turned off.
- Panoramic media covers in Grid and Timeline no longer collapse into very thin strips.
- The notification bell refreshes when opened and when you return to the Nivlo window.
- Downloads started in Safari are no longer cancelled before saving begins.
